SCIENCE CENTRE CREATOR GARNERS 'PRIMO ROVIS PRIZE'

Professor Saroj Ghose, creator and scientific director of the "Science Centre" in Calcutta, has received the 1996 'Primo Rovis International Prize'. The awards ceremony took place at the ICTP's Adriatico Guesthouse in June. Professor Ghose was honoured for his outstanding contributions to the popularisation of science and technology throughout the world. The 'Primo Rovis Prize' is made possible by a generous endowment created by one of Trieste's most prominent coffee importers and is granted by the Trieste International Foundation for Scientific Progress and Freedom.
