Main research themes:
- Atmospheric lidar (detection of particulate and pollutants)
- Lidar fluorosensor (detection of CDOM and algal pigments)
- Data analysis of ocean color satellite radiometers
- Laser induced fluorescence applied to cultural heritage diagnostics.
Background required:
- Graduate in engineering or science (physics, chemistry, biology…) with an experience of one year in one of the above reported fields.

Research themes:
• Modeling matter/radiation interactions in the atmosphere and at the Earth surface
• Geo-spatial data analysis (geomatics) and modeling.
• Satellite data analysis and modelling for the study of main natural, environmental and technological hazards (e.g. volcanoes, fires, floods, earthquakes, oil spills, etc.)
• Development of advanced satellite techniques and sensors for rapid detection, monitoring and early warning of phenomena potentially affecting population security.
Equipment available:
• MSG-SEVIRI antenna and primary receiving system (operational since 2004)
• Portable spectro-photoradiometers + calibrated sources of radiation, for measurements of spectral signatures of natural and artificial surfaces in laboratory and in the field
• NOAA HRPT/CHRPT antenna and direct readout receiving system (operational since 1994)
• EOS-MODIS X-band direct readout receiving system (operational since 2005)
• Data Archiving and Processing facility (more than 100 Terabytes, 15 years, of satellite data stored on-line on a SAN environment + NAS systems) with high computing processing devices)
